Who we are
PlugLocate is an EV charging discovery product of Outofbox Solutions, created by Harin Shah. We focus on practical day-to-day moments — arriving in a new city, planning a longer drive, or checking whether a nearby station is still worth the detour.
What we believe
- Clarity beats clutter. Power, access, and connectors should be obvious.
- List and map should agree — filters you set once should follow you.
- Trust needs honesty. Catalog status is not the same as live ports; we say so.
What the app covers
- Nearby list and map with shared filters
- Place and station ID search; plugs, power, access, facility amenities, networks, and presets
- Station-detail Nearby: walkable food, restrooms, shops, and services from OpenStreetMap with walking directions
- Trip corridor planning (planning aid — open Apple or Google Maps for turn-by-turn)
- Station detail: directions, share, community tips and photos
- Optional TomTom live port checks for signed-in users on supported stations
- Guest browse; email OTP, Apple, or Google when you want an account
Accounts, live status & trip planning
You can browse core discovery without an account. Optional sign-in (email with in-app OTP verification, Apple, or Google) unlocks favorites, community tips and photos, and on-demand live charger / port status powered by TomTom where a matching station is available. Trip views are corridor planning aids — open Apple or Google Maps when you need turn-by-turn directions.
What’s next
We’re improving catalog coverage, polishing search and map sync, and keeping the product lightweight. This website is our public home for product presence — the experience itself lives in the mobile app.
