What PlugLocate is — and isn’t
PlugLocate is an EV charging discovery product from Outofbox Solutions. We help you find and compare stations. We are not a charging network operator and do not control stations, pricing, or availability.
- Catalog data (NLR / AFDC-derived coverage and Open Charge Map) and community signals are informational — not a guarantee a port will be free when you arrive.
- Live ports use TomTom via our backend for signed-in users, on demand, only where a match exists — not for every charger, and not in the background.
- Nearby places come from OpenStreetMap and may be incomplete. They are not live hours, ratings, or a guarantee a business is open.
- Trip views are planning aids. Open Apple or Google Maps for turn-by-turn navigation.

Can I use PlugLocate without an account?
Yes. Browse list and map, search, filter, plan a corridor, and use Nearby places as a guest. Sign in for favorites, tips, photos, ratings, and TomTom live ports.
Is live charger status available for every station?
No. Live ports come from TomTom for signed-in users, on demand, only where a matching station exists.
Can I see food and places near a charger?
Yes. Station detail includes Nearby — walkable food, restrooms, shops, and services from OpenStreetMap, with walking directions. Coverage varies and is not live business hours.
Is PlugLocate a navigation app?
No. We help you discover chargers and plan a corridor. Open Apple or Google Maps for turn-by-turn directions.
Do you operate charging stations?
No. Outofbox Solutions builds PlugLocate as a discovery product. We do not run networks or set pricing.
Where does the data come from?
Station catalogs include NLR / AFDC-derived data and Open Charge Map. Nearby places use OpenStreetMap. Live port checks use TomTom where available. See our Privacy Policy for details.
